PLAS.TV Expert Talk on “Plastics in the Automobile

In the FAKUMA Expert Talk on PLAS.TV on the subject of “Plastics in the Automobile”, Dipl-Ing. Ulf Seefeldt, Key Account Manager Automotive at BARLOG Plastics, and Dr.-Ing. Rudolf Fernengel, Managing Director of 2R Kunststofftechnik, were among those who spoke about the future of plastics in automotive engineering.

It is impossible to imagine modern automobiles without plastics, as they ensure that vehicles can be designed to be lightweight, comfortable and energy-efficient. Changing requirements due to stricter emission limits and the development of alternative drive concepts, such as electromobility, are promoting the use of plastics in automobiles and calling for innovative technologies, e.g. to make lightweight construction interesting for high-volume vehicles as well.
