With Rapid Tooling, BARLOG Plastics offers fast and cost-effective production of injection molding tools for prototypes, pre-series, and small-batch production directly based on 3D CAD data. Unlike many other prototyping methods, nearly all commercially available thermoplastics can be processed under conditions close to those of series production. This allows components to be validated early on, development decisions to be validated, and iteration cycles to be significantly shortened. “Rapid Tooling combines the speed of modern development processes with the precision of traditional mold making. These include the new high-performance PEKK compounds from the KEBAPEAK® 9000 series, which have been developed for applications with particularly high demands in terms of temperature resistance and performance. Also in the spotlight are materials containing recycled content from the KEBALLOY® ECO portfolio, as well as opportunities for metal substitution. In addition, the company is presenting the ECO Calculator and its ECO Consulting services. These enable companies to evaluate and compare different material and product concepts using key metrics such as product carbon footprint (PCF), material usage and costs.
