Company
History
Werner and Petra Barlog founded BARLOG Plastics in 1996 for the distribution of engineering plastics – genuine customer orientation, high service quality and many years of experience form the foundation for successful development.
It all started in the private premises of the Barlog family in Engelskirchen. Children’s room and garage serve as office and storage space.
After only 3 years, in addition to distribution, the company already has its own product range, a technical center with injection molding machines is established, and the test laboratory is set up. Significant strategic steps to be able to support customers as a development partner.
The constant focus on new technologies and innovations leads BARLOG Plastics to enter magnetic technology in 2004 and to purchase the first compounding extruder for the development of individual customer solutions.
In 2008, the service center becomes an independent engineering service provider: “BAHSYS” and “BARLOG Plastics” operate under the umbrella of the “BARLOG Group”.
The sons, Frank and Peter Barlog, join the management after many years of working for the company, thus securing the succession in the family business.
To enlarge the warehouse and production halls, the company moves to Overath in 2011. The number of employees and the machinery grows steadily, so that the available space had to be expanded.
The previously independent divisions “BAHSYS” and “BARLOG Plastics” will merge into one company at the end of 2020, thus making greater use of synergies in order to be able to offer customers materials and services from a single source: “BARLOG Plastics – More from Polymer.”.
For the development and production of plastic compounds, the company purchased a plot of land with production halls in Dattenfeld in the Rhein-Sieg district at the end of 2021. This made it possible to expand the space available for compounding.
