Material solutions containing recycled content and PFAS-free alternatives for the plastics industry – BARLOG Plastics at Fakuma 2026

Increasing regulatory requirements, new material concepts and high technical standards are shaping the development of modern plastics applications. At Fakuma 2026 in Friedrichshafen (Hall A3, Stand A3-3309), BARLOG Plastics GmbH will be presenting materials containing recycled content, PFAS-free solutions for tribological applications, and engineering services for the evaluation of material and product concepts.

Materials based on post-consumer and post-industrial recycled content

With the KEBALLOY® ECO portfolio, BARLOG Plastics offers engineering plastics and high-performance compounds based on post-consumer and post-industrial recycled materials for demanding technical applications. The focus is on materials based on high-quality post-consumer recycled materials, which combine defined material properties with reproducible quality and high processing reliability. The compounds are tailored to the specific requirements of the application and can be used in both existing and new product designs. Furthermore, BARLOG Plastics develops customer- and application-specific concepts for the reuse of production offcuts and end-of-life plastic components. To this end, the materials used are analysed, processed and assessed for their suitability for new applications. “The demands placed on modern plastic materials are constantly increasing. There is a need for solutions that combine technical performance, availability and reliable processing,” explains Peter Barlog, managing partner of BARLOG Plastics GmbH.

PFAS-free materials for tribological applications

Another key focus of the exhibition stand is PFAS-free plain bearing materials. Against the backdrop of the ongoing discussions regarding PFAS restrictions, BARLOG Plastics is presenting alternatives to PTFE-modified compounds that are specifically tailored to the respective application. As there is no universal substitute for PTFE, the company relies on bespoke material concepts. These take into account, amongst other things, temperature behaviour, chemical resistance, mechanical stresses and the tribological requirements of the respective application. Through specialised combinations of fillers and additives, excellent friction and wear properties can be achieved even without the use of PTFE, depending on the specific application.

Further innovations at Fakuma 2026

In addition to material solutions containing recycled content, PFAS-free alternatives and metal-replacement options, BARLOG Plastics is presenting further innovations at Fakuma. These include the high-performance PEKK compounds of the KEBAPEAK® 9000 series, which have been developed for applications with high temperature requirements. The company will also be introducing the ECO Calculator and its ECO Consulting services. These enable companies to evaluate and compare different material options in terms of key indicators such as the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF), material usage and costs. This supports the technical and economic assessment of material and product concepts right from the early stages of development. Combining materials expertise, application-oriented development and solutions for prototyping and small-batch production, BARLOG Plastics will be presenting itself at Fakuma 2026 as a development partner for demanding plastics applications.
