Case-Study “Samplistick”
“Samplistick” – Sustainable project support from the idea to series production
The topic of sustainability and the reduction of the CO2 footprint are now increasingly the focus of new product developments. Sustainability and recyclability were therefore also essential in the development of the “Samplistick” by the start-up company of the same name. In this case study, we show you how BARLOG Plastics brought the product to market quickly, safely and cost-effectively thanks to the right choice of materials and the appropriate development services.
Project description
The “Samplistick” project is an excellent example of effective collaboration between BARLOG Plastics and a start-up company. With the development services of consulting, simulation, laboratory testing as well as prototype production, the “Samplistick” was quickly brought to market maturity (www.samplistick.de). The “Samplistick” is already being used throughout Germany in some perfumeries for filling perfume, makeup or care samples. This gives customers the opportunity to test the product at home before deciding to buy it.
Material selection
KEBALLOY ECO E302 natural, a recycled PET from PET bottles, was used for this project. This material is food grade, recyclable and allows a closed recycling loop when returned.
Development services
BARLOG Plastics has developed a high-quality tooling concept for the “Samplistick”. The high-quality two-start thread was formed in the mold by nozzle side and ejector side as well as two additional slides. In addition, an injection molding simulation of the series tool with a 16-cavity cold runner manifold system was carried out. Cleaning tests for recyclability and a leak test in BARLOG Plastics’ in-house test laboratory rounded off the development services for this project.
Prototypes
BARLOG Plastics built a high-quality prototype mold from aluminum. In addition, prototypes were also produced for functional and leak tests.

Small series and assembly
So far BARLOG Plastics has assembled and delivered 8000 pieces of “Samplisticks” in small series.
Conclusion
The customer was very satisfied with the look, feel and function of the prototype. The material selected met all the necessary requirements. This project clearly demonstrates how BARLOG Plastics can help bring a product to market quickly, safely and cost-effectively by providing high-quality materials and development services. It also underlines BARLOG Plastics’ commitment to sustainability through the use of recycled materials. The successful implementation of the “Samplistick” project demonstrates BARLOG Plastics’ potential as a reliable partner for start-up companies. With its expertise in plastics processing and its commitment to sustainability, BARLOG Plastics is ideally positioned to successfully implement future projects.
