BARLOG Plastics at Fakuma 2026: Material innovations, sustainable development and flexible manufacturing — all from a single source

Overath, August 31, 2026 – At Fakuma 2026 in Hall A3, Booth A3-3309, BARLOG Plastics GmbH will present innovative solutions for sustainable plastic applications, metal replacement, and accelerated product development. The focus will be on the latest material developments, high-performance engineering approaches, and modern manufacturing solutions ranging from prototypes to series production.

Sustainable Material Solutions for Tomorrow’s Requirements

At Fakuma 2026, BARLOG Plastics will present sustainable and future-proof material solutions covering the entire product life cycle. The focus is on the consistent expansion of the KEBALLOY ECO portfolio with high-performance compounds based on high-quality post-consumer recyclates, PFAS-free tribological materials as a practical alternative to PTFE-modified materials, and ECO Services for sustainable product development.

With ECO-Selection, ECO-Design, ECO-Calculator, and ECO-Simulation, BARLOG Plastics supports its customers in optimizing material selection, component design, and CO₂ assessment as early as the initial development phases. By combining material development, engineering, manufacturing, and digital sustainability tools, the company positions itself as a development partner for innovative, cost-effective, and regulatory-compliant plastic solutions.

Rapid Tooling for Fast Component Development

Furthermore, the company showcases expanded capabilities in rapid tooling as well as in pre-production and small-batch manufacturing. The spectrum ranges from traditional injection molding to two-component (2K) applications, liquid silicone rubber (LSR) processing, and plastic-metal hybrids. An additional vertical machine opens up new degrees of freedom in component design, particularly for complex geometries and insert applications.

Customers benefit from short development cycles, production-ready prototypes made from original materials, and early validation of their development decisions. This reduces technical risks, shortens iteration cycles, and brings products to series production faster and more cost-effectively. The close integration of toolmaking, injection molding, engineering, and materials expertise enables a seamless development process from the initial idea to pre-series production.

Metal Replacement as a Design Lever for Performance and Cost-Effectiveness

Another focus of the trade show presentation is the replacement of metal with highly reinforced and application-optimized plastics. Modern compounds not only enable lighter, more corrosion-resistant, and more cost-effective components but also create new opportunities for functional integration and component design. Using concrete application examples, BARLOG Plastics demonstrates how high mechanical strength, electromagnetic shielding, magnetic functions, or high material densities can be specifically incorporated into plastic components. This simplifies assemblies, reduces assembly effort, and lowers total cost of ownership. In this way, metal replacement unlocks new potential for high-performance and cost-effective solutions in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, the automotive industry, and consumer goods technology.

Expansion of the Material Portfolio with New KEBAPEAK PEKK Compounds

In the field of high-performance materials, BARLOG Plastics is introducing the new KEBAPEAK 9000 product series based on PEKK. With a heat resistance of up to 385 °C, these compounds enable use in temperature ranges that were previously difficult to access. The combination of high temperature resistance and a high degree of crystallinity ensures high load-bearing capacity and reduced wear even under demanding conditions.

Users benefit from increased operational reliability, longer service life, and expanded design options in applications where conventional high-performance plastics reach their limits. As a result, the new PEKK compounds open up additional potential for high-performance, durable components in demanding industrial applications.
