The first virtual EKTT successfully performed
Overath, 30. Juni 2021 The 24th Engelskirchen Plastics Technology Days on June 17 and 18 were a premiere – for the first time, the event took place virtually and presentations were given as webinars live via Zoom instead of on the big stage. A virtual “Coffee Lounge” was available for networking, inviting attendees and speakers to linger. The virtual EKTT version reached more than 420 well-known participants from the automotive, household appliances and many other industries.
Once a year, as is well known, everything at BARLOG Plastics revolves around the Engelskirchen Plastics Technology Days – an event organized by plastics experts for plastics experts. This year’s concept included a 2-day webinar series on the topics of “Sustainability, Innovation & Digitalization” to make this established event pandemic compliant. With more than 400 guests, the number of participants of the physical event was even exceeded.
Virtual EKTT as a webinar series
“After participating in a number of virtual trade shows in recent months and unfortunately not having good experiences with attempts to transfer the “trade show” concept to virtual space, we quickly decided to omit the accompanying exhibition and focus only on the content, offering only a series of webinars,” said Peter Barlog, Managing Director of BARLOG Plastics GmbH.
The planning and implementation of the event was done in-house and so 20 Zoom webinars were set up, a dedicated event website with login area for participants was created and even a virtual coffee lounge for networking was set up. This also enabled an exchange between guests and speakers.
“We are very satisfied with the result. We were able to arouse great interest among key decision-makers from various industries and had high participation rates and a lot of interaction during the webinars,” says Peter Barlog about BARLOG Plastics’ latest event. “We are particularly pleased with the positive feedback on our sustainability solutions, such as our range of high-quality recycled materials, which we market under the trade name KEBALLOY ECO.”
