Successful EKTT 2026 – New format receives positive feedback

Overath, May 4, 2026With a full house and a clear focus on practical issues, the 28th Engelskirchen Plastics Technology Day celebrated its successful return after a one-year hiatus. Organized by BARLOG Plastics, the conference brought together experts from the plastics industry on April 23, 2026, at the Kardinal-Schulte-Haus in Bergisch Gladbach, offering a compact forum for knowledge transfer, exchange, and innovation.

The focus was on practical presentations on current technological and strategic topics along the value chain. Speakers from various industries used concrete projects to demonstrate how technical performance, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability can be combined. The new, deliberately streamlined conference format was very well received—the event was fully booked well in advance.

Brehmer Group Received the Innovation Award

A special highlight of the 28th EKTT was the presentation of the Innovation Award, for the first time featuring a live vote by event participants. With this award, BARLOG Plastics honors forward-looking projects that impress with technical innovation and a sustainable approach. First place went to the Brehmer Group, represented by Moritz Schmidt, Engineering Director / Executive Board. The project “Magnetized Plastic – Reduction of Installation Space and Cost Optimization (Practical Example: Motorcycle Application)” impressed the audience in the categories of Innovation, Complexity & Technical Implementation, Sustainability, Market Relevance, and Overall Impression. The award ceremony underscored the EKTT’s commitment not only to discussing current developments but also to highlighting innovative achievements.

Networking in the stylish ambiance of the Kardinal-Schulte-Haus

In addition to the lecture program, the 28th EKTT provided an opportunity for intensive networking and professional exchange on an equal footing. Participants from development, design, production, and management took the opportunity to share experiences and gain new insights for their own work.

With the successful staging of EKTT 2026, BARLOG Plastics confirms the event’s status as an established industry gathering for the plastics industry. “The high demand shows us that compact, content-rich conference formats with a clear practical focus continue to be in demand,” says Peter Barlog, managing partner of BARLOG Plastics GmbH, “We received a lot of positive feedback from the participants. This gives us important insights for planning the next Engelskirchen Plastics Technology Days.”
