Fakuma 2024: Rapid Tooling: Faster to series maturity in plastics production

Overath, 10.09.2024 BARLOG Plastics will be presenting a wide range of technical plastic compounds and services for the development of plastic parts at Fakuma from 15 to 19 October 2024 at Stand 3209 in Hall A3. This year’s focus will be on sustainable compounds from the KEBALLOY ECO series, PFAS-free plastics, ECO Consulting and material data record determination. BARLOG Plastics will also be offering comprehensive advice on rapid tooling, a process that makes it possible to produce series-ready products from 3D data sets within a very short time. BARLOG Plastics also has special injection molding processes such as silicone, magnetic and multi-component injection molding as well as the overmolding of metal parts using a vertical injection molding machine in its portfolio for its customers.

Rapid tooling enables the rapid manufacture of injection moulds for the production of prototypes, pre-series or small series based on 3D CAD data. This method combines the high quality of traditional mould making with the speed of rapid prototyping. In contrast to 3D printing, rapid tooling offers a free choice of all available thermoplastics and allows rapid design changes while producing parts in series quality. The short lead times support agile product development, as the path from design to finished prototype takes only a few days.
