Frank Barlog unanimously re-elected Chairman of the KIO Board of Directors

Overath, March 14, 2025 The Kunststoff Initiative Oberberg (KIO) e.V. elected its new board of directors at its annual general meeting on March 12, 2025 at the premises of GIRA Giersiepen GmbH & Co. KG in Radevormwald elected a new board of directors. Frank Barlog, Managing Director of BARLOG Plastics GmbH, was unanimously confirmed in his position as Chairman of the Board.

Important topics on the agenda

The KIO members’ meeting began with a tour of the GIRA Giersiepen GmbH & Co. KG. Following the welcome by the host, formal items such as the approval of last year’s minutes, the financial report and the discharge of the Board of Directors were on the agenda. A central item on the agenda was the election of the new Board of Directors, which takes place every two years as scheduled. Frank Barlog was confirmed in his position as Chairman of the Board of Directors by the members present without any dissenting votes.

“I am delighted about the renewed trust of the members and look forward to continuing the successful work of the KIO,” explained Frank Barlog after the election. “The plastics industry is facing many challenges, but also great opportunities, particularly in the area of sustainable materials and innovative technologies. Together with the members of the KIO, we want to actively shape these”.

In addition, changes to the association’s articles of association were discussed and approved in order to make legal adjustments and optimize the KIO’s structures. After the election, new member companies were also introduced and an outlook on upcoming events and industry events was given.

KIO as a platform for regional exchange in the plastics industry

The Kunststoff Initiative Oberberg e.V. sees itself as a networking platform for companies in the plastics industry in the region. It offers an interface for the exchange of knowledge, technologies and joint projects. BARLOG Plastics has been actively involved in this for many years and contributes its expertise, particularly in the areas of plastics technology, material development and sustainable solutions.

Following the official part of the event, the participants used the get-together to discuss current developments in the industry and make new contacts.
