BARLOG Plastics opens its doors to young explorers on ‘Mouse Door Opener Day’

Overath, 19 September 2024 – On October 3, 2024, it’s time again for ‘Doors Open with the Mouse!’ and BARLOG Plastics is pleased to be part of this unique hands-on event this year. Under this year’s motto ‘ZusammenTun’ (doing together), the company is opening its doors and offering children and their parents exciting insights into the fascinating world of plastics processing.

The ‘Mouse Door Opener Day’ allows children to explore places that are normally not accessible. Every year, numerous companies, public authorities, research centres and cultural institutions take part to offer special experiences to the little mouse fans and their families. BARLOG Plastics is proud to be part of it this year and to share its passion for plastics technology with young explorers.

A day full of discoveries and children’s eyes shining

On this special day, BARLOG Plastics shows how toys are made from plastic and what exciting processes are behind them – from colouring the plastic beads to the finished mould. The children learn how colourful plastic parts are made and go through the entire production process. ‘Many colleagues from the team were keen to help create this special experience for children. I am very happy about that, because this is also a matter close to my heart,’ says Peter Barlog, Managing Partner of BARLOG Plastics.

An exciting programme for the whole family

The guided tours through the company are already fully booked – a sign of the great response and popularity of the ‘Sendung mit der Maus’. Between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., tours are offered every hour, giving children aged six and up and their parents an exciting look behind the scenes.

The visitors start with a short presentation of the company, followed by a tour of the toolmaking department and the colouring of the plastic at the extruder. The highlight of the tour is the injection moulding of a toy building block on the injection moulding machines and the exciting drop hammer test in the testing laboratory.

‘I am looking forward to this special day and I am excited to see how the children’s eyes will light up when they experience the guided tours of our company with Mouse, Elephant and Duck,’ says Peter Barlog. The entire BARLOG Plastics team is also eagerly anticipating the event. ’Of course, there will also be a little something for the little guests to take home as a souvenir of this exciting day.’
