BARLOG Plastics as exhibitor at Swiss Plastics 2023

Overath, 09.01.2023 At this year’s Swiss Plastics, which will take place from 17 – 19.01.2023 in Lucerne, BARLOG Plastics GmbH will be represented together with its Swiss distributor HGD Polymers GmbH in Hall 2, Booth B2043. The focus is on special compounds for future technologies – for example, the family-owned company from Overath will be presenting thermally conductive materials for thermal management, electromagnetically shielding compounds and materials based on recycled materials. The plastics expert will also be showing holistic concepts for reducing the CO₂ footprint in product development.

BARLOG Plastics GmbH will be exhibiting together with its Swiss distributor HGD Polymers at this year’s Swiss Plastics in Hall 2, Booth B2043. HGD Polymers GmbH has taken over the exclusive distribution of the broad service as well as material portfolio of BARLOG Plastics for Switzerland and Liechtenstein since January 2023. The local contact will provide customers with a significantly expanded service offering.

Special compounds for future technologies

The mobility of the future requires innovative material solutions to optimally solve the challenging tasks of these new technologies. BARLOG Plastics will be presenting its wide range of KEBABLEND special compounds: these include, for example, thermally conductive plastics for the thermal management of electronic components and batteries in electric vehicles, or soft magnetic injection molding materials for magnetic flux control, which are needed for contactless energy transmission. In addition, new compounds for electromagnetic shielding and a wide range of lightweight materials will also be presented. Materials used as metal substitutes enable reduced energy consumption while increasing the range of tomorrow’s vehicles.

Materials based on recycled materials

Sustainable materials have become increasingly important in recent years. BARLOG Plastics, for example, has expanded its range of compounds based on recycled PET bottles to include glass- and carbon-fiber-reinforced and mineral-filled grades, thus also enabling sustainable applications in food contact, for example for reusable tableware, kitchen appliances or coffee machines. But BARLOG Plastics is also developing new solutions for heavy-duty applications to meet the growing demand for materials with recycled content in the automotive industry.

Sustainability begins in the first step of product development

As a competent full-service provider from idea to series production, BARLOG Plastics has been supporting its customers in the development of components for many years. In the production process, there are many adjusting screws that can be used for more sustainability in product development. This is precisely where BARLOG Plastics’ new “ECO-Consulting” service offering comes in. It comprises three service modules: Eco-Selection supports the customer in selecting the right material for the planned component, taking resources into account. Eco-Design forms the second service module, which offers joint development of the best possible component design with regard to design-for-repair and design-for-recycling. By simulating the production cycle, Eco-Simulation reveals whether and where cycle time reductions or better tempering layouts are possible. The respective modules can be booked individually or as a complete package from BARLOG Plastics and enable sustainable product development.

Invitation to the presentation “Reducing CO₂ footprint with recyclate-based KEBALLOY ECO compounds”

“Our holistic approach to sustainable product development, which starts with the simulation of component properties and processing procedures, enables our customers to use our recycled materials to advance into applications for which previously only virgin materials could be considered, e.g. structural components as metal substitutes,” said Peter Barlog, Managing Partner of BARLOG Plastics GmbH. “For innovative impulses of sustainable product development, I cordially invite visitors to Swiss Plastics to my presentation ‘Reducing CO₂ footprint with recyclate-based KEBALLOY ECO compounds’ on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 1:50 p.m. in Hall 1,” Peter Barlog concludes.

You will find BARLOG Plastics GmbH in Hall 2 at booth B2043.
