24th EKTT as a virtual expert panel
Overath, 16.02.2021 The 24th Engelskirchen Plastics Technology Days of BARLOG Plastics GmbH on June 17 and 18, 2021 will take place for the first time this year purely virtually. Due to the ongoing and unpredictable pandemic situation, the management decided to hold a digital event with a focus on technical presentations.
The two-day event will be set up as a webinar series with specialist presentations on the key theme of “Sustainability, Innovation, Digitalization”. The exhibitors will have the opportunity to pass on their knowledge to the audience in the form of a 30-minute presentation and to encourage an exchange of ideas. For speakers and viewers, participation in the webinars is free of charge.
“The still ongoing Covid19 pandemic has prompted us to hold this year’s EKTT purely virtually.” Peter Barlog, managing partner of BARLOG Plastics GmbH, based in Overath near Cologne, Germany, reports. Surveys among exhibitors and participants have moved the plastics expert to focus the digital EKTT exclusively on high-quality technical presentations and not to offer an accompanying exhibition this year. The planned 18 webinars will each consist of 30-minute technical presentations and a question & answer session with the speaker.
Sustainability, innovation, digitalization
At the latest with the automotive industry’s demand for a consistently CO2-neutral supply chain and the associated ambitious time targets, the topic of sustainability has finally arrived on the agenda of all manufacturers of engineering plastic parts.
“For many companies, despite all their personal aspirations to act in a more climate-conscious manner, this is an additional burden in troubled times. Customer markets, above all the automotive industry, are in a state of upheaval and the race to optimize the efficiency of manufacturing with the means of digitalization has long since begun. The demand for a rapid transformation to sustainable industrial production is the third major transformation that needs to be shaped at the same time,” says Barlog.
