Faster to Production: BARLOG Plastics will showcase the potential of rapid tooling and prototyping at Fakuma 2026
Overath, September 21, 2026 – Short development cycles, increasing pressure to innovate, and high demands on functionality and cost-effectiveness are presenting companies with ever-greater challenges. BARLOG Plastics GmbH will demonstrate how plastic components can nevertheless be brought to series production quickly, reliably, and cost-effectively at Fakuma 2026 in Friedrichshafen, in Hall A3 at Booth A3-3309. The focus of the trade show presentation is on rapid tooling, prototyping, and customized material solutions that accelerate product development, reduce technical risks, and shorten time-to-market.
Faster from Concept to Production
With Rapid Tooling, BARLOG Plastics offers fast and cost-effective production of injection molding tools for prototypes, pre-series, and small-batch production directly based on 3D CAD data. Unlike many other prototyping methods, nearly all commercially available thermoplastics can be processed under conditions close to those of series production. This allows components to be validated early on, development decisions to be validated, and iteration cycles to be significantly shortened. “Rapid Tooling combines the speed of modern development processes with the precision of traditional mold making. This provides our customers with reliable results early on and enables them to bring their products to market faster,” explains Frank Barlog, managing partner of BARLOG Plastics GmbH.
With its protosys® business unit, in-house tooling department, and a state-of-the-art injection molding technical center, BARLOG Plastics offers all services—from prototype production to small-batch production—under one roof. Insights gained during the development phase are directly incorporated into subsequent series production. This reduces development risks, saves costs, and shortens the path to a market-ready product. The offering is complemented by comprehensive materials expertise, CAE simulations, and the implementation of sophisticated processes such as multi-component, silicone, or magnetic injection molding. In this way, BARLOG Plastics supports customers throughout the entire development process—from material selection and component design to production-ready implementation.
Further Innovations at Fakuma 2026
In addition to solutions for efficient product development, BARLOG Plastics will present further innovations from its materials portfolio at Fakuma. These include the new high-performance PEKK compounds of the KEBAPEAK 9000 series, which were developed for applications with particularly high requirements for temperature resistance and performance. In addition to sustainable materials from the KEBALLOY ECO portfolio, the company will also highlight opportunities for metal replacement. Furthermore, the company will introduce the ECO Calculator and its ECO Consulting services. These tools enable companies to thoroughly assess the environmental impact of their material decisions and identify opportunities for optimization. With its combination of innovative materials, application-oriented development, and efficient prototype and small-batch production, BARLOG Plastics will underscore its position as a comprehensive development partner for demanding plastic applications at Fakuma 2026.
