BARLOG Plastics awarded EcoVadis silver medal once again

Overath, 16 July 2026 – BARLOG Plastics GmbH has once again been awarded the EcoVadis Silver Medal. The sustainability rating agency EcoVadis assesses companies in the areas of the environment, ethics, labour and human rights, and sustainable procurement. This year, BARLOG Plastics GmbH ranked among the top 15 per cent of the companies assessed thanks to its commitment to environmental and corporate social responsibility projects, and improved its performance in the areas of ethics and procurement.

EcoVadis awards BARLOG Plastics the Silver Medal once again

BARLOG Plastics GmbH has once again been awarded the Silver Medal this year by the international sustainability rating agency EcoVadis. In doing so, EcoVadis recognises the company’s achievements in the areas of the environment, ethics, labour and human rights, and procurement.

Sustainability has been an integral part of BARLOG Plastics’ corporate strategy for many years. Since 2019, the portfolio has been expanded to include materials containing recycled content, as well as further material solutions for a variety of application requirements. These include high-quality compounds based on recycled materials, such as PET, PC, PC/ABS, PA12, PPS and PEEK. In addition, BARLOG Plastics supports its customers through its BARLOG ECO-Consulting service, assisting them in evaluating material options and in the development and optimisation of plastic components.

BARLOG Plastics also continues to prioritise sustainable measures at its two sites in Overath and Dattenfeld. The procurement of electricity from renewable sources, the use of its own photovoltaic system and investments in energy efficiency at the Overath and Dattenfeld sites are integral parts of the company’s energy and infrastructure measures.

“We are delighted to have once again been awarded the EcoVadis Silver Medal; it shows that we are on the right track,” explains Nicole Lange, Sustainability Officer at BARLOG Plastics GmbH. “We view the further development of our processes and activities in the areas assessed by EcoVadis as a continuous improvement process. That is why we are working consistently to further develop our performance in all relevant areas.”

Significant progress in the areas of ethics and procurement

The improvements in the areas of ethics and sustainable procurement are particularly encouraging. In the area of ethics, BARLOG Plastics increased its score from 65 to 79 out of a possible 100 points. The result was also improved in the area of sustainable procurement. This development underlines the company’s ongoing efforts to further expand responsible corporate governance and to integrate the relevant requirements more closely into its collaboration with business partners and suppliers.

“We see the current rating as recognition of our work to date and, at the same time, as motivation to further develop our activities in the areas of the environment, ethics, labour and human rights, and procurement,” explains Nicole Lange. “The improvements achieved show that our measures are having an impact. At the same time, we recognise that sustainability is a long-term process that we want to actively shape together with our employees, customers and partners.”

Consistently pursuing corporate goals and measures

BARLOG Plastics will continue to consistently pursue its sustainability strategy in the future.

A particular focus remains on measures to reduce the company’s greenhouse gas emissions. The company continues to pursue its goal of significantly reducing its CO₂ emissions by 2030 compared with the reference year 2018. The measures already implemented form the basis for continuing to pursue this goal until 2030.
