Successful EKTT 2026 – New format receives positive feedback

Overath, 4 May 2026 – With a full house and a clear focus on practical issues, the 28th Engelskirchen Plastics Technology Day celebrated its successful return after a one-year hiatus. Organised by BARLOG Plastics, the specialist conference brought together experts from the plastics industry at the Kardinal-Schulte-Haus in Bergisch Gladbach on 23 April 2026, providing a concise forum for knowledge transfer, exchange and innovation.

The focus was on practical specialist presentations on current technological and strategic topics across the value chain. Speakers from various sectors used specific projects to demonstrate how technical performance, cost-effectiveness and requirements regarding material selection, the use of recycled materials and product concepts can be combined. The new, deliberately streamlined conference format was very well received. The event was fully booked well in advance.

Brehmer Group received the Innovation Award

A particular highlight of the 28th EKTT was the presentation of the Innovation Award, which, for the first time, was decided by a live vote from the event participants. With this award, BARLOG Plastics recognises forward-looking projects that impress through technical innovation, high practical relevance and innovative material or product concepts.

First place went to the Brehmer Group, represented by Moritz Schmidt, Engineering Director / Executive Board. The project ‘Magnetised Plastic – Reduction in Installation Space and Cost Optimisation (Practical Example: Motorcycle Application)’ impressed the audience in the categories of innovation, complexity and technical implementation, sustainability, market relevance and overall impression. The awards ceremony underlined the EKTT’s aim not only to discuss current developments but also to highlight innovative solutions and achievements in development.

Networking in the stylish surroundings of the Kardinal-Schulte-Haus

In addition to the programme of presentations, the 28th EKTT provided an opportunity for intensive networking and professional exchange on an equal footing. Participants from development, design, production and management took the opportunity to exchange experiences and gain new insights to apply in their own work.

With the successful staging of the EKTT 2026, BARLOG Plastics has reaffirmed the event’s status as an established industry gathering for the plastics sector.

“The high demand shows us that compact, content-rich conference formats with a clear practical focus continue to be in demand,” says Peter Barlog, managing partner of BARLOG Plastics GmbH. “We have received a great deal of positive feedback from participants. This provides us with important insights for organising the next Engelskirchen Plastics Technology Days.”
