Determination of density according to DIN EN ISO 1183

Density is the ratio of the mass to its volume. Density is usually expressed in grams per cubic centimeter or kilograms per liter. Density is calculated as follows:

ρ = m/V

With the help of density determination, it is possible to make statements about the material used, since every plastic has a specific density. The densities of plastics usually lie in a range of 1 – 2 g/cm3. This method is often used in quality assurance and material analysis.
