New tribocompounds based on PEK

Barlog Plastics offers in its range of polyaryletherketones (“KEBAPEAK”) novel tribopolymers based on polyetherketone (PEK).

Barlog Plastics offers novel tribopolymers based on polyetherketone (PEK) in its range of polyaryletherketones (“KEBAPEAK”). These modified high-performance thermoplastics exhibit continuous service temperatures up to 300 °C and offer more performance at less cost as sliding and wear applications with extremely high PxV values. Applications include plain bearings or guide elements, which previously had to be manufactured at great expense from sintered graphite, sintered bronze, polyimide (PI) or polyamideimide (PAI).

With a melting temperature of 372°C and a glass transition temperature of 152°C, these new development grades enable extreme operating temperatures and expand the existing KEBAPEAK PEEK range in terms of thermal operating range and achievable bearing loads and sliding speeds.
