BARLOG Plastics awarded as “TOP PROTOTYPE ENGINEERING SOLUTION PROVIDER 2021”.

Overath, 13. Juli 2021 Barlog Plastics has been named “TOP PROTOTYPE ENGINEERING SOLUTION PROVIDER 2021” by Manufacturing Technology Insights magazine and can thus count itself among the best European companies in prototyping. The joy is great and confirms the plastics expert in its strategic orientation.

“With the increasing number of prototyping tech companies entering the market, selecting the right solution provider has become a critical task for manufacturing companies,” reads the introduction in the July issue of Manufacturing Technology Insights. To help companies find leading providers, the magazine listed the top 10 prototyping solution providers in Europe. Barlog Plastics impressed above all with its holistic business model, in-depth plastics know-how and consistent focus on digital development tools.

Business model: “Full-service engineering. From the idea to series production”.

The company leverages its extensive manufacturing expertise, ranging from conception to design and prototyping to product launch, to help its customers shorten their time to market while keeping development costs under control. Companies in a wide range of industries value Barlog’s technical expertise, creative ideas and services. Over the years, the company has evolved into a full-service provider.

Know-How: “in-depth knowledge of formulation, production and properties of engineering plastics”.

Since its founding in 1996, the company has been a proven distributor of engineering plastics, helping customers develop high-performance solutions. The expertise gained in formulation, manufacturing and properties of engineering plastics allows Barlog to approach engineering not only from a design perspective, but also from a materials perspective.

Technology: Digital tools accelerate product realization

In addition to the digital methods of CAE, 3D printing is also playing an increasingly important role in the production of prototypes at Barlog. In this way, fully functional sample parts can already be generated within hours during the planning phase, which the customer can evaluate, optimize and approve. Once the additively manufactured prototypes have been optimized, they are converted into real injection molded parts using the rapid tooling process. Here, there are no longer any limits to the choice of materials and even larger quantities, right up to small series production, can be realized.

The Overath-based company continues to expand its range of services and its portfolio of in-house manufacturing technologies. In recent years, for example, injection molding of liquid silicone rubber, laser marking, ultrasonic welding and computer tomography have been added.
