Bending threshold test
The bending swell test is a test developed by the BARLOG Plastics testing laboratory to test the weld line strength of a material under repeated loading.
The test uses weld line tension bars that are subjected to bending in the weld line. The bending is applied in the form of a swelling load. Deflection distance and time can be adjusted within certain limits. The test has proved its worth in the BARLOG Plastics test laboratory for investigating the strength of weld lines of different materials and batches and for drawing conclusions about the long-term behavior of weld lines on components.
