Current statement on the COVID19 crisis / Current situation at BARLOG Plastics

Dear customers, suppliers and partners,

the Corona virus / COVID-19 continues to have a strong impact on the social and economic situation in Germany and thus also on our business relationships.

For us, the protection of our employees, customers and suppliers is of primary importance and therefore we will do everything necessary to ensure this protection.

As you can see from the current reporting, the further development of the infection is still unclear and we have no choice but to wait, take precautions and react to the current developments.

We have implemented the following measures to safeguard operations:

  1. Visits to customers and suppliers are possible in compliance with hygiene measures and with limitation and traceability of contacts, provided they are necessary for business operations. Where reasonably applicable and compatible with the projects, we use video and telephone conferencing instead of face-to-face meetings.
  2. We have limited business travel within Germany and to neighboring countries to the extent necessary, unless classified as a Corona risk area by the Federal Foreign Office. Here, too, compliance with hygiene measures and limitation and traceability of contacts are basic requirements.
  3. We are closely monitoring the recommendations for action issued by the Robert Koch Institute, the German Federal Center for Health Education, and the German Federal Ministry of Health in order to be able to respond to the latest developments.
  4. Where possible, we have arranged for our employees to work from the home office. In this case, the employees have full access to our network and the telephones are diverted accordingly. In individual cases, we may not be able to respond to your concerns at the usual speed. However, we will do everything in our power to ensure that there are no noticeable disruptions.
  5. Apart from a few isolated cases, our logistics chain has not been affected so far. However, extended border controls may result in longer lead times at the borders, which we keep an eye on at all times in order to react accordingly. As soon as we become aware that further restrictions are imminent, we take measures to maintain supply security.
  6. The procurement of raw materials has not been noticeably disrupted to date and disruptions are limited to isolated materials. Should any disruptions become apparent, alternative procurement channels will be examined and used without delay. In the event of changes, we will contact you immediately to find possible solutions so that delivery dates can be met. It is also essential that our suppliers support us in the same way and contact us directly in the event of possible restrictions in order to take countermeasures.
  7. Due to the now widespread measures to maintain profitability (short-time work, reduction in working hours, etc.), some upstream suppliers are experiencing significantly extended delivery times of up to 3 months. In the case of stock products, we endeavor to compensate for this by keeping appropriate stocks. In the case of products manufactured to order, we ask our customers to take this extension of the delivery time into account when ordering by making appropriate advance arrangements.
  8. The delivery time of air conditioning units is currently extended by about 4 weeks, as our supply partners cannot maintain full production capacity.
  9. In accordance with our emergency plan, our employees are regularly informed about how to protect themselves against infections, how to recognize symptoms of illness, and what to do in the event of illness. We have identified risk groups in our workforce and provide them with special protection. We have also ensured a temporary ability to supply and act in the event of a reduced workforce through further stages of our emergency plan.
